Dublab's latest addition in the ongoing series of deep dives into the undergrowth. "In The Loop 4" is a circular expression of psychedelic love! The music compiled here shines brightly from beginning to end to beginning again. Crafted with care, this offering is a fitting continuation of the brilliant Dublab vinyl series.

Our sunny journey begins with LA's new seekers of super love, Lavender Diamond. Their grand declarations of world peace and bold musical actions to bring it about are worthy of trumpet punctuated praise. Here they offer an optimistic ode to eternal cold chillin' "In Heaven There Is No Heat." This dynamically arranged delight marches along to a steady kick drum and soars as Becky Stark's angelic voice rises on a cloudy chorus and shining strummed strings.

The Long Lost are a sparkling gem. The duo, husband and wife Daedelus & Laura Darlington, are dandy in all the right ways. "Sibilance" is a tune for turned on tea-time. Pop your starched collar and fly with them on finely stroked strings and tumbling drums. Their intricate vocal dance will send you spinning. This appearance comes in advance of their anticipated debut album on Ninja Tune. Open your ears early for a taste of their delicate delights.

Animal Collective rule! This band of wildly radical rascals has been a Dotistan love affair since first listen. Their fractured arrangements and always odd harmonic acrobatics are enough to leave even the most music versed mind spinning in mystery. "Chocolate Girl" is a look back at their highly advanced past. This epic tune is a mysteriously overlooked mega-hit from their first album "Spirit They're Gone, Spirit They've Vanished". With its bubbling melody spouting high like an electric geyser over heavily smashed drums it is as exuberantly out as you can get. This beautiful beast will itch your eardrums to excitement. What loop is complete without dreams? Devendrita y las Cachapas Peludas (Devendra Banhart & Hairy Fairy) have a bright and bushy one. They envision a new generation of wild haired youth. With wood, wire and wind they shake up a thrilling declaration of long locked love dubbed "Niña de Pelo Largo Nadando." This mysterious live version of a campfire slash karaoke favorite moves with thrilling intensity. Its energy is sure to spark explosive family dance parties across the universe.

Then on to Western Vinyl's very own Dirty Projectors. They are clearly not of this world at all. They are hosts bringing visions from beyond. "Two Sheep Asleep" are flickering fantasies from tomorrow's deep sleep. This is no snooze affair though. It is an exuberant exclamation of shining light. Ringing bells and joyous handclaps sound the celebration sensation.

Feathers (now under the curation of Gnomonsong .-the label of Devendra Banhart and Vetiver) are a family of brothers and sisters united not by blood but by musical love. They live harmoniously in Brattleboro, Vermont but make voyages outward to share their songs alongside friendly folks like Espers, Vetiver, and Smog. The sharing will soon increase as Feather dudes Kurt & Asa have formed a new band called Witch with J. Mascis. Feathers have provided "In The Loop 4" with a buoyant jingle jangle jam, "Angel in the Sky" that will have saints & sinners singing along. It's a rambunctious ragtime pot & pan pitter patter party as sweet as can be.
